Five years ago tomorrow we started with a new radio station, Today’s Talk 1490. I was hired as the morning guy and charged with making a show. Here it is five years later and I still love doing it. I have got to do some pretty awesome things, like go inside of the I 90 bridge and peer down at the river below, broadcast from the Lock and Dam, then tour all the behind the scenes things. I also interviewed thousands of people. I got to talk with politicians, business leaders, and rock stars including some of my favorite. I have made some friends and some enemies. Every single day is a new adventure. This job can also be humbling, as this year I was nominated as one of the best of Morning Dj’s and Best Radio Personality. I often wonder when I talk with my friends who don’t like their jobs, why not look for a new one? Why work a job you hate? Like is short, we all have only so many breaths on this earth, so why be miserable? I lucked out and have the best job for me. I couldn’t imagine being shackled to a desk or have the noose of a tie around my neck day in and day out. Plus I get to wear tee shirts and flip flops.

Daily Dose of BS Nov 7 - Day after election
The 2012 election is done, it was down to the wire, down to
a percentage point here and a percentage point there. Can one person at the top be the difference
between day and night? I do not believe
so, I really think that this is why we have more than one branch of government.
I personally think that they all have some good ideas, and many, many more bad
ones, if politics were cut and dry that if this is up and this is down then
maybe just maybe it would be easier to like what they do, and maybe it would be
easier for things that are good for us as Americans to get done, a simple yes
or no for this and that is better than filling up a bill with two thousand
pages of fluff. We have a day or two of
election talk, and a week or so of no political ads then back with both feet to
the fire for 2016.

Daily Dose of BS February 17
I believe I have earned my right to bitch, I vote every time and I think I have only missed a couple of primary election in past 17 years, and no general elections since I was able to vote. Before buying my house in La Crosse, I floated around for the 8 years from High School to home ownership, having worked in Mason City Iowa and Scottsbluff Nebraska. In both of those communities I found out where to vote and voted. The reason I bring this up is that there are some major things coming up both locally, statewide and nationally, locally there is the issue of a city administrator, statewide is the possible recall of the Governor and nationally this is an election year. We soon will be bombarded with lies on the radio, the tv from the different pac groups and via automated phone calls. I thought that if you signed up for the no-call list that these would stop, they didn’t. They are exempt, nice since they are the ones who make the laws, very convenient, allow a back door for their own agenda. Two days ago I got notice that my election place has moved, I live a couple of blocks away from the South Side Public library and now will have to vote at the Hogan Administration building a whole lot further away than the library. The funny thing is I just did a search of the new boundary lines and people who live next door to the South Side Library will have to vote at a new location also, while people who live further south in La Crosse will now vote at the Library. Now if I forget my ID it will take me longer to get home to get it, leave it to the government to make a simple thing more difficult.
