The process of eminent domain is underway. The city of La Crosse hired a firm out of Eau
Claire to oversee dealings with the piece of the puzzle for the entrance of the
Riverside North property. The Board of
Public Works agreed to pay a company just a bit over 5 grand to make sure that
all the I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed in the dealings with the Wettstein
Brothers JRD Ltd. La Crosse hopes to buy
the lot that they own to create the opening needed for the new 65-acre parcel of
land the will be developed into housing, some businesses, and some recreation
areas. According to the La Crosse Tribune,
the city is moving forward with the eminent domain acquisition to ease the
process of purchasing it.
